Verwood Town FC Golf Day 05-Apr-16

VERWOOD TOWN FC GOLF DAY
FRIDAY 15TH APRIL 2016

The laws of probability showed that by the 7th Annual Golf Tournament we had to expect a day of bad weather after 6 years without a problem and Friday 15th April the weather gods got their own back on us!

Thirteen teams had entered however unfortunately two dropped out leaving the remaining eleven to don waterproofs and battle the elements. It was a tough day on the course at Crane Valley but yet again with good humour the day went very well.

With the day starting off with a welcome Coffee and Bacon Roll battle then commenced.

We were blessed with generous sponsors and donators which yet again meant our prize table was second to none.

The overall individual shield winner who won a £100 voucher at Crane Valley was Kris Anderton who bagged an impressive 41 Stableford points.

The winning team was Choke it, Stroke it, Grip it, Sip it consisting of Simon Guy, Shaun Gale, Colin Dyson and Elliot Eaton, with 117 stableford points. They won a trophy each and round of Golf at the picturesque course at the Isle of Purbeck.

Second team was MVS Audio Visual (Noel Moss-Holland, John McIntyre, Simon Hurst & Don Conan) with 116 points on count back and they won an £80 voucher for Al Trullo Italian restaurant in Verwood.

Third place also with 116 points was Haven't played for a while (Kris and Barry Anderton, Dan Loader & Richard Pickup) who won a fourball at one of the Hoburne courses Nearest the pin on the 6th was won by Shaun Gale and the longest drive was won by Gary Martin Nearest pin on the 13th was won by Billy Andrews and Nearest the pin in 2 on the 18th was won by Gary Perkins. All winners received a trophy and a 1.75 litre bottle of Vodka apart from Gary Perkins who got a £40 voucher for a meal at the Spice of India.

Congratulations to all of them.

It should also be mentioned that the team in 11th won a puzzler magazine and a token for the driving range each. This was Army's troops. To save further embarrassment I will not show their full names but Paddy, Mark, Andy and Steve know who they are.
