Downton continued where they left off a couple of weeks ago hitting accurate channel balls to the flanks.

Fortunately Danvers and Watkins were on form and winning their individual battles.

We were sluggish and helping Downton’s pressure game.

We dropped deeper. Downton took advantage and it looked inevitable that we would go behind.

Ben Kelly and Morgan Browning stopped a couple of flowing moves but we struggled overall to contain middle of the park.

Davies and Fisher swapped flanks in an effort to change the flow but the supply line struggled and Downton remained on top.

Half way through the half Downton’s pressure and hopeful shots paid off with an effort giving them the lead. 0-1.

It sparked a reaction and for a short period we hit back but couldn’t grab a leveler. Gray, Davies and Fisher all went close but the clinical finish wasn’t there.

Watkins suffered a hamstring pull with couple of minutes left. Luckily Lister was on the bench and came on just before the whistle.

Half Time 0-1.

Gray got half a chance in the opening spell but fired wide.

Downton’s tackling made sure progress on goal was halted. Our passing deteriorated

Fisher made way for Cooper as we pushed on. A couple of corners were cleared easily by Downton’s defence and a Davies effort was down the keeper’s throat. We couldn’t finish.

Downton retaliated bringing a couple of good saves from O’Connor.

Jake Kelly’s cross with 10 minutes left was just too far ahead of Davies allowing the keeper to boot clear.

We faffed around the area but couldn’t convert effort into goals.

2 minutes to go we left holes in the back and a break finished with the score board rattling up Downton’s second of the game.

Anderton came on for Browning before the whistle but Downton kept a clean sheet and picked up 6 points from this season’s fixtures.

Result 0-2.
