Nothing like a local Derby for thrills and spills. This lived up to expectations.

A minute gone and a shot from Ringwood shaved the bar. Immediate retaliation was halted in Ringwood’s third with a good move stopped by a Ringwood foul on Carswell.

Kelly headed clear a long hopeful Ringwood deep cross into the box and then Browning swept the ball off toes just on the edge of the box.

Smith fed Danvers freeing him up for a run and shot on goal. The keeper did well to hold the ball under the bar.

10 minutes .. Freak went wide right spreading Ringwood’s back four and a low cross found McWilliam. A hooked a ball went just wide.

Ringwood hit back down their left but met a brick wall in Ben Knight. A long clearance was hoofed back in and Smith rose high to nod on to Cooper. A wide ball left and Davies broke through to force a corner.

Ringwood defenders won the melee to clear up field.

Danvers was now enjoying a bit of freedom and working the ball with Smith opened up a gap. Cooper slipped through a defensive wall but his shot on goal was diverted for a corner.

We continued pressing with Joe Freak almost free on goal but then disappointed by a dubious offside flag.

Davies broke the score line with a great goal on 33 minutes as we again edged play. 1-0.

A counter on 40 minutes gave O’Connor a chance to dirty his gloves as we stood firm against a flurry of Ringwood attacks.

Josh Hall came on for Joe Freak with a couple of minutes left.

Half Time 1-0.

Davies hammered a second with ten minutes gone giving us a healthy lead .. 2-0.

15 minutes of end to end play was enjoyed by the crowd.

Cam Smith was subjected to a heavy foul and had to come off for treatment.

A dubious penalty for Ringwood was converted altering the score board.. 2-1.

Tempers frayed. A red card and a sin bin was a blow for the home side. Then, a penalty as we occupied the Ringwood box. Davies converted with an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner. 3-1.

The game had no prisoners. All or nothing.

A late rally from Ringwood had Browning and Kelly busy but we held on to our lead finishing with a well earned 3 points.
