Alresford's start was brisk and we had to defend in numbers as they pressed forward. Dinnivan was busy but comfortable with our back four absorbing most of the pressure.

We countered well and in the 12th minute Weardon capitalised on a break hammering the ball into the bottom corner giving us a 1-0 lead.

Alresford's response was immediate. Again we defended well, Bignell and Pope took care of the central area with Fletcher and Kerr covering the flanks.

Midfield was redundant for a time as Alresford switched to more long ball. Again Dinnivan had plenty to do but on 25 minutes couldn't stop a volley from 8 yards skipping past him to level scoring. 1-1.

4 minutes to go and although we were gaining possession got caught pushing up giving space for Alresford to go ahead 1-2.

In the last minute we had our usual goal effort clip the bar and sail over the top.

Half Time. 1-2

10 minutes into the second half we broke free but yet again put the ball over the bar with the keeper beaten.

Alresford then demonstrated a finishing touch with a half chance making it 1-3.

Two minutes later Pope made ground and fired a rocket of a shot but again agonised as it screamed over the bar.

Minutes later Cticiun's pace carried him past a defender and a low shot was beaten out by the keeper. Dinev followed in to make it 2-3.

Celebrations were short lived. A gap through the middle….2-4.

In the closing stages we had the benefit of possession but failed to put the ball past the keeper.
