Match Report Bournemouth Sports vs Verwood Town 13-Aug-25
DORSET PREMIER LEAGUE
WEDNESDAY 13TH AUGUST 2025
BOURNEMOUTH SPORTS 5 VERWOOD TOWN 1
Our second away game of the season with several squad changes.
A scrappy start on a very short pitch needed a settling in period. It didn’t happen. We had a very limited active mid field as the ball created several stiff necks looking like a drone.
Sports benefitted more than we did using the long throw and high balls into our box.
20 minutes on the clock and a throw into to the penalty box resulted in a goal for the home team. 0-1.
Shortly after, we retaliated with a good break by Sergio forcing a corner. An inswinger caused a bit of confusion with the defenders and an own goal levelling the score. 1-1.
Sports went ahead just before the break with another high ball into the box and a simple tap in gave them a half time lead of 1-2.
Half Time. 1-2
The second half was a copy of the first with a scrappy game but a well drilled Sports benefitting from the conditions.
We had a couple of good chances but the drought continued of not being able to put the ball past the keeper.
Another long throw from the left wasn’t picked up and a simple header put Sport 3 up. 1-3.
95 and 97 minutes produced a score line of 1-5.
The home side went home deliriously happy and we frustrated with our performance.
Result 1-5.
