Match Report Gillingham Town vs Verwood Town 19-Aug-25
DORSET PREMIER LEAGUE
TUESDAY 19TH AUGUST 2025
GILLINGHAM TOWN 0 VERWOOD TOWN 1
It took 25 minutes to break through a tight Gillingam defence.
Some good link work exhibited between Bentley and Danvers, then Craciun on the run down the flank, a cut in and slip to Khilder who put Verwood one up as his strike disapeared through the Gillingham keeper.
Fudge and Knott worked hard in the middle and created a couple of decent
opportunities for Craciun and Khilder but some good defence work by the home side
kept the 45 minute break at 1-0.
Half time. 1-0.
It was a hard fought second half. Beck was busier and commanded his area during
a torrid spell from the Gillingham forwards.
Lillis found it hard to shake off close marking but a good run and cross with ten
minutes left on the clock should have produced a second goal. A clogged area
denied Khilder increasing his tally.
A rugged win and a good team effort earned 3 points.
Result 1-0.
