Déjà vu…..5 minutes gone and trailing 0-1.

Poole’s first attack caught us asleep. A dozy attempt to block a shot and the ball trickled over the line to put Poole Borough ahead.

Then 3 minutes later a counter had space for a Craciun dipping shot. The keeper was caught napping and the score line read 1-1.!!!!!!! A goal fest to follow ????

It wasn’t the best of football skills partly due to a heavy pitch but both teams tucked in to give the spectators a reasonable day out.

15 gone and a free kick for Poole was cleared by Harvey. A quick counter and Gill’s shot was cleared out of the penalty box.

A gradual shift in possession saw us having the edge and several chances should have produced a goal but we continued to suffer from bad finishing.

A lapse in concentration with 25 minutes on the clock and we got caught pushing up. A Poole strike from distance sailed into the net 1-2.

Half time. 1-2

Fudge and Bartlett came on to dirty their boots while Matthews and Lillis cleaned theirs. The game continued.

Lots of chances opened up but we blew them away with poor attempts to score.

Toth came on for Craciun with 20 minutes gone.

On 22 Pope shot steered the past the keeper made it 2-2.

Then, squeaky bum time, down to ten men as Shiv was consigned to the sin bin. We dug in well with the reduced number

Beck was busy for a while but we again we gradually topped possession.

Forwards had had a miserable afternoon. Up stepped skipper Pope. With the end approaching Pope rose above defenders to plant a header from a good cross into the net. 3-2.

Stoppage time was played out and the whistle went on a mixed but rewarding effort.

Result 3-2.
