Match Report Verwood Town vs Wimborne Town Reserves 25-Oct-25
DORSET PREMIER LEAGUE
SATURDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2025
VERWOOD TOWN - WIMBORNE TOWN RESERVES 1
A disappointing Verwood Town performance led to Wimborne Town Reserves picking up three points. Recent games had a spark, this one never lit up.
From the whistle it was evident both sides had their heads elsewhere. Football quality was mixed. Luckily, we had a reasonable defence to cope with tentative strikes and new signing Ryan Knibbs in goal showed a safe pair of hands.
Isolated attacks should have produced a couple of goals. Craciun on 27 minutes gathered a Fudge crossfield ball, cut inside his marker and an angled shot was palmed round the post by the keeper.
WT’s efforts were high and wide.
Half Time 0-0
A glimmer of a good attack popped up straight from the re start. We attacked down the left a good cross from Danvers finished up untouched and going dead.
We stood still on three minutes. It was as though Wimborne had brought on Moses. We parted like the Red Sea. A comfortable run into the box and Wimborne put the ball into the bottom corner. 0-1.
We did offer a token threat to draw level with the best efforts from Pope. A header from a free kick kicked off the line and a free kick on the edge of the box blocked by a solid defensive line summed up the half.
Result a disappointing
0-1 score line.
