Match Report Bournemouth Electric vs Verwood Town 28-Feb-26
DORSET PREMIER LEAGUE
SATURDAY 28TH FEBRUARY 2026
BOURNEMOUTH ELECTRIC 2 VERWOOD TOWN 2
We had to contain an aggressive attacking Electric from the whistle. Our defence had to work overtime with emphasis on aerial activity.
The pitch was cut up and slippy. Electric adapted better to the conditions than we did.
Only 9 minutes gone and a corner for Electric poorly defended, was turned past Knibbs for a 0-1 score line.
We continued on the back foot producing few attacks to cause the home side concern.
A couple of hopeful runs down the flanks met with a no nonsense Electric back four who didn’t waste time putting the ball into orbit.
Electric won the majority of headers as we struggled to contend.
The half closed with Electric still pressing but unable to increase the score line due to a resilient Verwood defence.
Half Time 0-1
The first 10 minutes of the second half was a mirror image of the first. Strong attacks from Electric aided by missile launches.
Knibbs was extra busy but coped with the onslaught.
Then with 11 minutes gone, one for the history books, we had our first shot on goal. It sparked a revival.
2 minutes later Craciun hammered a volley just over the bar followed by pressure forcing 2 successive corners.
22 minutes Knott and Middlewick made way for Bartlett and Colarelli.
Electric still dominated header challenges so we stayed at 0-1 until 7 minutes later we left enough space for Electric to run free and make it 0-2.
35 on the clock Barton made way for Lordache.
BE continued to push for possession but we gained ground and with 37 gone a heavy tackle in Electric’s box was judged a foul. Up stepped Pope to make no mistake with an unstoppable shot past a good keeper. 1-2.
We pushed on. Electric now defended deep and the keeper did well to keep the score down.
Injuries through the game meant 5 minutes extra time. 3 minutes into the 5 and Lordacre cut in from the left and hit a volley past the keeper to make it 2-2.
It was frantic last minute as both ends had skirmishes but the whistle gave both sides a point each.
Result 2-2
