For the first ten minutes we faced a fired-up NM forward line. Wallis in goal supported by a back four of Colarelli Best Kerr and Pope dug deep preventing NM an early lead.

We gradually got into the game and a couple of counters had NM back pedalling to curb the threat on goal.

The game had a mixed approach, with an occasional long ball but generally both teams playing on the deck.

We looked sharper as the half progressed, competing better in mid field.

The half finished with a flurry of attempts at both ends but the score line remained blank as the whistle blew.

Half Time. 0-0

Changes to the team took place during the break. The changes slotted in well and much better than in our last friendly.

Mid field looked stronger and competing well. Up front we tested the NM defence but couldn’t break through.

Defensively we held tight and as the game progressed, we matched the endeavours of NM to break the deadlock.

Both teams did well to survive a very hot day and give the crowd consolation for missing the beach.
