Heads still in the dressing room meant a goal down in 2 minutes. An inswinging corner, header on the post 0-1. A dreadful start for us but an adrenalin rush for Swans.

It took us 10 minutes to settle down. A ball into Swans box was fumbled by the keeper. Kerr pounced with his head. 1-1.

5 minutes later a free kick on the edge of our area was hammered past Wallis, 1-2. It looked as if the spectators were due a goal fest.

22 minutes Kerr followed in a through ball and was pushed over in the box. Penalty…No. A couple of spectators close to the incident wondered if the rules had changed for this game. The decision stood.

We pressed, good football and a pegged Swans defence. Counters were dangerous and a close call on 26 minutes came as a runner went free but lashed the ball over the bar. A good open game continued with Swans getting back in possession.

Kerr was a target for a rough passage. A series of heavy tackles grounding him had calls for a yellow but no cards flourished.

We still had the higher percentage of possession as the whistle blew for half time.

Half Time 1-2

A good opening spell saw a couple of efforts from Craciun saved and a McKinlay rocket dipping over the bar.

Swanage bounced back. Pope and Penn blocked the central runs and both Best and Joyce did well containing flanks. We countered. Kwanwinda sparked a couple of good openings but the Swans defence held solid.

10 minutes and Kerr escaped another sliding tackle and a second header from him made it 2-2 A good watch for the spectators as both teams went for goals.

We still had a possession edge but on 25 minutes Swanage broke through to score, 2-3. 38 minutes a ‘cracking’ Craciun shot made it 3-3.

We pushed on. The last few minutes were hectic. Both goal area saw activity and we had a couple of chances that should have been put away but suffered with three minutes left with Swanage stealing a goal and pinching three points.
