BALTI SPORTS 3 VERWOOD TOWN 1

We started well with Danvers cutting out a through ball and setting McKinlay up for a run on goal. A shot was on target but straight down the keeper's throat.

2 minutes later Colarelli split the Balti defence finding Knott marauding on the right. Another attempt on goal suffered the same fate giving the keeper handling practice.

12 minutes though we got caught from a typical clearance high over our defence and landing fortuitously for a runner to collect and tuck the ball past Wallis. 0-1.

We hit back and 3 minutes later Kerr connected with a ball 25 yards out to put the ball past the keeper into the top corner. 1-1

We were performing much better than in the last couple if games but still leaving gaps to be exploited.

30 minutes 1-2 as Balti converted a free kick just outside the box.

Half time 1-2

It was even’s in term as of possession for the first half of the second 45 minutes and with a more clinical finishing capability would have gone ahead as Knott and Kerr had shots go agonisingly close.

We continued to press but fell foul of yet again leaving space for Balti to net a third with 32 minutes gone.

Although in our opinion against the run of play, the history books will record an apparent comfortable 1-3 win for Balti.
