Best described as a scrappy match with neither side able to keep the ball on the deck and play football. Sway, although in a lowly position in the league finished as runners up last season and are now getting all their players back. They had some good individual players but didn't perform as a team. Whereas we had lots of endeavour, but our final pass was generally woeful. The few times we put moves together we showed that we could tear them apart, but these occasions were few and far apart.

Nothing of note in the 1st half which was fairly even. 2nd half they started the better and took the lead after about 10 minutes through a short corner crossed over and a free header from about 6 yards. Awful defending because we were not alert enough to see the danger! However, the character in this team is first class and we pulled a goal back almost immediately from the penalty spot. A good move up the left saw Andy Martin lay the ball into Lee Pidgely's path and having beaten the full back was brought down for an easy decision for the Ref to make. Scolsey calmly slotted the ball home.

Thereafter Sway sat back looking for the point, and we just didn't have the skill to break them down.

I feel sorry for our large band of supporters who turned up to see our worst performance of the season.
