We seem to be experiencing a month where all our previous hard work has been forgotten and this match was no exception. Kick off was delayed as the appointed Referee was ill and had informed the league that he would be unable to officiate. This never helps getting the players in the right frame of mind, however from kick off we took the initiative, albeit we were a bit scrappy. Saying that though after 5 minutes young Stevie Reeves bursting through from midfield controlled a cross from the right whilst on the move and volleyed the ball past the helpless keeper to put us one up. Thereafter we were totally on top for the remainder of the first half, which included us missing a penalty (Scolsey), failing to bury a one on one with the keeper (Wes) and in one attack failing to put the ball in the net from 3 yards on two attempts (Lee and Wes again!).

Just before half time they had an attack and a free header at the far post which Colin somehow saved, despite initially going the wrong way. Half time team talk was that we should have been 4-1 up and that one nil wasn't enough.

It was time for revenge from the 4-1 mauling we experienced at the start of this season, but the second half was appalling. We seemed to panic in defence, couldn't string two passes together and it was no surprise after 25 minutes when they found themselves 2-1 up. At this stage there was only going to be one winner and it wasn't us.

Fozzie then got injured and was replaced by the impressive Tristan Dorey and 5 minutes later we brought on 16 year old Bryan Quilter for Matt Wesby. Both subs in a five-minute spell turned the game around in our favour, first Tristan and John Homer worked well on the right and a positive run with the ball saw Tris upended in the box. Another penalty, which Andy Martin took and despite the keepers efforts went over the line. Soon after, young Bryan broke through, the defender, keeper and Bryan all challenged for the ball and Bryan came out with it and slotted home from an acute angle. 3-2 and 10 minutes to go.

Westover pushed their centre half forward and they attacked us, and 4 minutes into injury time we cleared a corner only for their midfielder on the edge of the box to drill home the equaliser. We should have won but had allowed Westover back into a game that should have been dead and buried. Colin had his busiest game of the season, being forced into save after save because we didn't close opponents down quick enough and when that happens you are bound to concede goals! Another point, but are all these draws enough?

Scorers: Steve Reeves, Andy Martin (Penalty), Bryan Quilter
