"The 2024/25 Season" - is now behind us and the First team (subject to final ratification) are expected to be playing in the Dorset Premier League next season. Preparations are already underway with arrangement of pre-season fixtures and signings ready for the challenge ahead. Keep an eye on updates in our 𝕏 (twitter) feed for latest information on these. There's still plenty of action to come at Potterne of course with our annual Youth Tournament taking place on 21st and 22nd June, please come along and support this great event if you can

Carl has been an integral part of the club, bringing passion, experience, and dedication to the role. Over the past several months, he has worked tirelessly to build and strengthen the team, leaving a lasting impact on the squad. We extend our sincere thanks to Carl for his efforts and commitment, and we wish him all the best for the future.

Looking ahead, we are pleased to confirm Jamie Kay as our new First Team Manager, with Alex Benham continuing as Assistant Manager. We look forward to this new chapter and their leadership moving forward.

Announcing our new Management Team. Carl Rolfe has been appointed as our new First Team Manager, alongside Alex Benham, who will join him as First Team Assistant Manager. Carl brings with him an extensive background in youth coaching, including experience at AFC Bournemouth Academy, as well as coaching at Wessex League level. In addition, he brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a strong vision for the future of the Potters. Carl returns to Verwood after a brief stint at Bournemouth Poppies as their First Team Coach.Alex, as many of you may know, joins us from our U23's team, where he will remain as Manager for the time being, with continued support from Carl. This will help solidify the link between our development team and the 1st team. Jamie has done an outstanding job since his appointment as First Team coach in July and will continue in this role working alongside Carl and Alex to strengthen the squad. Martin Gilham, Chairman of Verwood Town FC, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Carl Rolfe as manager, along with his coaching team of Alex and Jamie. We believe they will bring fresh energy and a strong vision that aligns with the club's ambitions. We're excited to see where this new management dynamic can take us, and we look forward to the future under Carl's leadership."

Carl has been an integral part of recruitment and reshaping of the team and also along with Alex Benham built the U23's and will be sorely missed by the staff and players. Progressing to a Director of Football role in June to work on the development and to install consistent footballing ethos throughout the teams. Martin Gilham Chairman of VTFC said "I would personally like to thank Carl for his valued input and work ethic since joining VTFC and wish him all the best for the future." "Site preparation Day - Saturday 29th June" - As we approach the start of the new season, we’re seeking volunteers and local tradespeople to help refresh our club facilities. Tasks for the day will include: - Painting, Repairing the roof on our Paybox, Welding, General cleaning and tidying. We'll have a BBQ with bacon butties, along with coffee and tea. Just come along and join us at Potterne Park from 8am to 5pm on Saturday, 29th June, and lend a hand. "Respect Award for Verwood" - Verwood Town First team win the April MJMSPORTS 'Respect' in Division One.. Furthermore, and announced at the Velocity Wessex League AGM, the club were second placed overall in the Division One Respect Awards for the season. Well done to all involved.

"U23 Division for 2024/25" - The constitution for the Hampshire Combination & Development Football League Under 23 leagues has been confirmed, our Verwood Town U23 team will be playing in the Division One (West) along with Bemerton Heath Harlequins, Blackfield & Langley, Hedge End Rangers, Hythe & Dibden, Laverstock & Ford, Lymington Town, Romsey Town

"Director Of Football" - Carl Rolfe will be our new Director of Football for the 24/25 season. Carl commented “I am thrilled to have been offered the role of Director of Football and can’t wait to get started. My goal is develop and maintain high standards throughout and get the club operating as one. To integrate the first team’s operations with the rest of the club. One of our greatest strengths is our vibrant youth system and I aim to ensure continuity between the first team, the under-23s, and the under-18s. My focus will be on working with Joe, Alex and Jamie in cultivating a strong club identity, culture, and pathway”. Martin Gilham Chairman of Verwood Town FC commented "I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Rolfe as Director of Football. There is a significant amount of young talent at the club progressing through the age groups and Carl's role is key to providing a pathway through under 18/23 to first team football. Carl, who has been a vital part of our team as the 1st Team Coach, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his new role"

"Commercial Manager" - Stuart Bourne, expanding on his current role developing the Club's Social media content has now been appointed as Commercial Manager. In this role, Stuart seek to maintain and strenghen relationhips with existing partners and develop new avenues for sponsorship and income. To support Stuart in his Digiatal and Social Media activities he will be joined by Samuel Shorey who comes with a background of Social media and Football Marketing analysis.

"Appointment U23 Manager" - Verwood Town FC are excited to announce that Alex Benham has been selected as our new U23's Manager. Martin Gilman Chairman of Verwood Town FC added “Alex has been an integral part of VTFC for several years, fulfilling roles in management, coaching, and playing. Currently coaching in the youth section and the U18 team, he has also played for the Verwood Town first team. The creation of the U23 team aligns with the club's growth strategy to connect youth and senior football. Carl Rolfe from our 1st Team management staff will support Alex, offering young talented players a clear pathway to first-team football and ensuring a seamless transition between the first team and the U23 squad.”
We wish Alex every success in his new role at VTFC.
